Dubai has launched the world’s first mobile floating fire station. This innovative project, introduced by the Dubai Civil Defence, is set to revolutionize emergency response on water with its exceptional efficiency, coverage, and speed.

The unique floating fire station is engineered to be sustainable and environmentally friendly, offering a solution that is 70% more cost-effective than traditional marine fire stations. Lieutenant General Expert Rashid Thani Al Matroushi, the Director General of Dubai Civil Defence, emphasized the station’s role in bolstering Dubai’s leadership in safety and security. He highlighted the station's capability to drastically reduce response times to maritime incidents to just four minutes, marking a significant advancement in marine firefighting capabilities.

This initiative is part of Dubai’s commitment to enhancing its infrastructure and services, particularly in the maritime domain. The floating station’s strategic location ensures extensive coverage across Dubai’s critical maritime and navigational areas, boosting the city’s preparedness for sea accidents.

The design of the station is centered around sustainability and efficiency, capable of accommodating 16 personnel while being mobile at a speed of 11 miles per hour. This mobility allows for a significant reduction in land use and carbon footprint, aligning with Dubai’s environmental conservation goals.

As Dubai continues to grow as a central hub for maritime trade and tourism, the introduction of the mobile floating fire station underscores the emirate’s dedication to safety innovation. With this development, Dubai Civil Defence reinforces its commitment to providing world-class fire and rescue services, contributing to Dubai’s vision of becoming a global leader in safety and security.
