Dubai mega project to hit major milestone on Friday

Dubai mega-project Town Square Dubai is to celebrate the opening of Town Square Park to the public with fireworks, a parade and activities on Friday.

Located in the heart of the development, the park’s opening marks an important milestone for developer Nshama, a statement said.

During the grand opening, which starts at 4 pm, a parade with 70 international artists will perform in the park at 4.30 pm and 7 pm. Families can also choose from a variety of food trucks, enjoy stage shows, roaming entertainment and fireworks to mark the event.

For the first time, children will have access to permanent installations such as a 70-seater carousel, a train ride, a water splash park, water fountains and covered play areas.

Fred Durie, CEO of Nshama, said: “We look forward to bringing a vibrant community together on the occasion of Town Square Park’s grand opening to the public. Nshama continuously strives to improve the lives of our residents and to add significant value to their properties; greenery and outdoor living being some of the most sought-after and rare features in Dubai’s residential landscape."

He said Nshama has already handed over 3,000 homes - increasing to 5,000 by the end of 2019 - that overlook and which are connected to the park.

A retail precinct with open-air F&B outlets, Town Square Dubai has already attracted a number of outlets such as Starbucks, Spinneys, Subway. Hardee’s, KFC, Krispy Kreme and Pizza Hut are due to complement the retail assets portfolio in the near future.

Once complete, the main square will cover an area the size of 16 football fields, and will also be home to a boutique hotel, cinemas and children nurseries.

Town Square Dubai will also feature a total of 16 community gardens, an extensive network of trails for jogging, cycling and walking, spanning across hundreds of square kilometres of green spaces.

The 750-acre Town Square Dubai will be home to over 18,000 apartments and over 3,500 townhouses.
