Another record breaking December at the world’s busiest airport for international passengers. 

Dubai International expects as many as 8 million passengers, and over 250,000 on some days, to pass through its gates this month, a figure boosted by the growing number of tourists and the closure of schools in the UAE for the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Meanwhile, Emirates have announced that they will be flying to and from Essex in 2018.

This week’s discussions about property have included the following

  • Its been a long time in the making but finally one of the most beautiful buildings in Dubai is planning to start the handover of its commercial space in January 2018. Their serviced apartments will come later in 2018 along with the first ME Hotel in the Middle East by the Spanish-based Melia Hotels International. The building has been designed by the late architect Dame Zaha Hadid, and it’s the only hotel project where she designed all of the interiors and exteriors. I made a site visit this week to snag an entire floor of office space and managed to sneak into the stunning Hotel Lobby which is under construction, scroll through my pictures on Instagram here. It is still possible to find one, two and three-bedroom apartments for sale, I have 17,558 sq. ft. of office space to rent and I also have some individual offices to sell starting from around 2,500 sq. ft.

 

  • Five minutes’ walk away from the Opus, and we have the busy construction site for one of my favourite buildings in all of Dubai – DT1 is one of only a handful of non-Emaar buildings in the square kilometre of Downtown Dubai, in my opinion it will be one of the most spectacular and therefore most sought after luxurious contemporary residences in the entire area when it is handed over in 2019. One bed from AED 1.98m, two beds from AED 2.896m and three beds from AED 4.681m

 

  • Now is a good time to finalise the purchase of your house in Akoya Oxygen, the developer is offering 5% discount if you commit before 31.12.2017 - 4-bedroom villas from AED 1.21 million – payable over four years, 5-bedroom villas from AED 1.52 million – payable over four years and 6-bedroom villas from AED 2.8 million – payable over three years. The same developer is offering a new Tesla with selected properties purchased during the Dubai Shopping Festival that runs until the 27th January – if you don’t want the car then they will give you a rebate of at least AED 140,000 – What do you think of offers like these?

 

  • Victoria in MBR City claims " to offer residents a taste of the unmatchable British lifestyle, from its charming living spaces to its vibrant streets filled with a variety of excellent retail options. The project is centred on community living, emulating the perfect balance of entertainment, work and living spaces from Victoria, London." Studios are selling for at least AED 466k for 358 sq. ft. inc. a balcony, one beds start at AED 698k for 523 sq. ft. and the two beds will start at AED 877k for 661 sq. ft inc balcony all on a 50/50% payment plan for handover in less than two years time 

 

  • Last but certainly by no means least, Wilton Terraces in MBR City will be the preferred choice for tenants and buyers and these "affordable luxury" apartments are a perfect "Buy to Let" investment as some of the most competitively priced properties located within 10 minutes of the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall. The project is a great example of the best that Dubai has to offer for location, quality, design, payment plan, price, developer - One bedroom apartment from 785 to 839 sq. ft. starting at AED 1.040M and two Beds from 1,198 to 1,237 sq. ft. at AED 1.502m
